LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Board of Realtors is sponsoring a Home Buyers' Workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Lake Placid campus of South Florida Community College in Room 124.
The focus of the free and open-to-the-public workshop is to help homebuyers realize their property dream, whether they want to purchase their first home or a vacation home; buy a larger or smaller home,gain some information to share with family who may be considering a home purchase, or even if they are just gathering informationabout refinancing their current home.
Local experts in a variety of topics, who are also affiliate or Realtor members of the Lake Placid Board of Realtors, as well as representatives from the Highlands County Housing Office, willoffer information and answer questions about the entire property purchasing process: credit, lending programs, financial assistance programs, how to choose lenders and real estate agents, inspections and appraisals and closings.
There are reasonably priced homes available, there are financial assistance and lending programs to help bring a home within a person's reach and there is money available for loans, according to Leslie K Godleski, association executive, Lake Placid Board of Realtors
