Curtain Goes Up For 'Aida'

SEBRING - The first three performances of "Aida" are set for this weekend at Highlands Little Theatre, located behind the Sebring Public Library.

The curtain goes up tonight and Aug. 16 at 8. Doors open at 6. p.m.

A matinee will be held at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17. Doors open at 1:30.

Greg's DJ And Karaoke At Why Not Lounge

SEBRING - Greg's DJ and Karaoke will be at the Why Not Lounge in Sebring from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. today and Aug. 16.

If there are a certain number of people in the audience, a cash for karaoke contest will be held. The winner will receive $25.

The Why Not is located on U.S. 27 near the intersection of Hammock Road.

Henscratch Farms Hosting Grape Stomp
LAKE PLACID - The eighth annual Grape Stomp will be held at from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at Henscratch Farms Vineyard and Winery, 980 Henscratch Road, in Lake Placid.

The California Toe Jam Band will perform. Food will be available.

Attendees will be able to stomp grapes.

The cost is $6 per person. Children under 12 will be admitted free.

Dukes Of Harmony To Appear At Tanglewood

SEBRING - The Dukes of Harmony will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 as part of the Tanglewood Summer Concert Series.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The cost of the show is $10.

A barbeque beef or bratwurst platter will be available for $5.

Before the show, the local antique and classic car clubs will display cars in front of the hall at 5 p.m.

Tanglewood is located one-quarter mile north of the Sebring Wal-Mart on U.S. 27.

'Grape Escape' Scheduled

SEBRING - The Highlands Grape Growers Association is sponsoring a free educational seminar, demonstration and free lunch from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Aug. 16.

The event will be held at Grapes of Kath Vineyards, which is five miles west of U.S. 27 on State Road 66. Turn right on Silver Road and follow the signs.

Sebring Hills Dance Slated

SEBRING - A dance will be held from 7-10 p.m. on Aug. 16 at the Sebring Hills clubhouse, located at 200 Lark Ave.

It is a BYOB and the admission price is $5. Drinks and snacks will be available at the snack bar. There will be music by Gary Daniels.

Fun Day Set In Hiway Park

LAKE PLACID - The sixth annual Hiway Park Community Fun Day for children, parents and friends will be held on Aug. 17, from 3 - 7 p.m., at the Hiway Park Star Center Complex, located in the Martin Luther King Jr. Park.

There will be free hot dogs, hamburgers and some fish given away.

Tickets will be given to children to receive special prizes.
