On Monday, I went to meet candidates. I thought I knew everything about everything. I was wrong.
There were political people there; there were people interested in the welfare of all of us. Andy Jackson admitted he/they might have done better. What he did not say is they could have done worse.
Jeri Canale has knowledge of the county commissioner's job. Jeff Carlson has a political agenda that wants to cut, cut, cut. It is my opinion that we have been cut so much, we have been bled, to where we don't have blood to give to Red Cross.
As for the sheriff's race, we have the very best. Money should not be in the running.
There was a letter to the editor Wednesday saying we should remodel a big store. I did not know we (county) had one. The writer also spoke of how someone from the VFW asked her why she did not drive an American car. If the writer had to rebuild her Toyota, it would cost her at least twice of what she paid to buy it, and remodeling a store would cost two to three times more than $11 million.
My thoughts are as told to Guy Maxcy. Have the contractors put apprentices on the job site to have more skilled labor in the future. That way there would be no need for green card workers. As for more officers in Sun 'n Lakes, Lake Placid, everyone would love to have 10 or more officers in their community. We have to take some responsibility. Take the license number, color and make if we see a suspicious vehicle.
Thanks to everyone on Monday.
