SFCC Offers Security Guard Certification Course
AVON PARK - South Florida Community College will offer a 40-hour Basic Security Guard Certification course, Sept. 8-23, at the SFCC Public Service Academy on the Highlands campus. Class meets four nights per week, Monday through Thursday, 6-10 p.m.

This course is required to become a state of Florida certified security guard. The cost is $133 and covers tuition and all materials.

Certificated Nursing Assistants Course To Be Offered
South Florida Community College's Nursing Program is accepting students into a nursing assistant course, Aug. 25-Nov. 1, at the SFCC Highlands campus. Classes and clinical instruction meets 8 a.m.-noon, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and some Tuesdays and weekends.

Students who successfully complete the course may become certified nursing assistants by passing the state licensing exam. Nursing assistants are qualified to work under the supervision of licensed practical nurses and registered nurses in hospitals, clinics and skilled nursing facilities.
