In response to this past Sunday's Associated Press article (Sept. 23) in the Highlands Today business pages, headlined "Furniture Sales Slipping." May I take this opportunity to share that Sofa Gallery Inc.'s sales are quite good.

We are debt-free and our inventories are paid for. We operate with low overhead and specialize in custom orders.

We attend the national furniture markets semi-annually and will be at the world famous High Point Market in October.

It has always been interesting when the media runs depressing "business is bad" articles, relating to a given industry and then the sales folks show up wanting to sell ads. In this case no mention was made that media rates have increased.

We offer direct purchase pricing and have exclusive representation for three of the nation's top brand manufacturers. Our furniture may be seen in three locations here in Highlands County. We are owned by native Floridians who reside here in the county. Our friends and customers are very much appreciated. Life is good, business is good and thank you for any positive spins you may wish to give our industry.
