AVON PARK — Global Technical Systems of Virginia Beach was awarded a $48 million contract on Tuesday to develop and manufacture airborne and ground sensor systems for the United States Special Operations Command and Department of Defense.
Work will be performed in Avon Park and is expected to be completed by September 2012.
The contract was advertised on the Internet by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md. GTS submitted the only offer.
