SEBRING – Bealls Outlet in Sebring has received an an interior makeover.
"It was getting a bit dated and dark to shop in," said Bill Webster, director of sales promotion for Bealls.
The makeover included installing lighting, new floors, creating wider aisles and coming up a new color scheme.
Webster said store officials had been interested in changing the colors that included teal, purple and mauve for a long time. Beallshas incorporated its logo colors of red, orange and white inside its stores.
The Sebring store is one of 18 stores in which the refurbishing has either been completed or is in the process of being done. There are approximately 80 stores in Florida that will have the improvements.
Webster didn't know how much was spent on the Sebring store, which he said is a great store.
"It has always been one of the best performing stores in the state," Webster said.
A grand opening of the store was held Aug. 31.
"We're excited about the results and are looking forward to surprising the snowbirds," Webster said.
The Bealls Department Store in Sebring, located in the Publix shopping center on U.S. 27, dates back to 1976. Bealls moved that store to Lakeshore Mall when the mall opened in 1992. In 1996 the lease was assigned to Bealls Outlet.
Bealls has more than 470 stores in 14 states.
