SEBRING – The University of South Florida's Small Business Development Center will start the next REAL (Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning) course on Sept. 24.
The class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. each Monday for 12 weeks at the South Florida Community College campus in Avon Park.
Potential entrepreneurs as well as existing businesses can benefit from the course. The 12-week curriculum will include: market feasibility, target marketing, advertising, product mix, financial projections, start-up funding, vendor relationships and personnel
Each week, attendees will research and complete a segment of their business plan. Professionals from the community, such as CPAs, bankers and attorneys will participate as guest speakers.
Those who want to start a business or want to jump-start an existing business are encouraged to attend.
The course fee for the 12-week curriculum is $100. Those who successfully complete the course may be eligible for a $90 refund.
