I was so pleased with the turnout for the Make-A-Difference-Day. We raised money for our Highlands County veterans and their families, but you know me, I am so greedy, I just kept asking for "one more dollar."

Don't forget, our soldiers are over there for people like you and me, to do all the things we take for granted, like breathing this "free air."

To the following, here is a huge thank you for all the help given, to make a difference for them. If I missed anyone, please forgive me. Like I told everyone, this is the best city and the people are the greatest in the world.

Advance Auto, Checkers, Healthy Living, Plaza Chevy, Dutchers, C.V.S. Crystal Nails, Hungry Howies, Big Lots, Tazmania, Discount Cards, Radio Shack, Clock Restaurant, Depot Restaurant, Burger King, Olympic Restaurant, Unique Florist, NAPA, Family Dollar, Wendy's, Avon Nails, Winn-Dixie, Today's Images, FED Co, OT Truck Parts, H. Williams office, Maryland Chicken, Upscale Nail Spa, WWOJ Radio Station, Jacaranda, Save-A-Lot, Bill Jarrett Ford and the Ladies Auxiliary for their items. Thank you.

But don't think that I am done, for in the month of November, I will be asking for help again for the holiday Christmas gifts to them. I need names of our "soldiers" that are overseas, so that we can send them their gifts, along with our prayers and love. Once again I hope that you can help me. Here is a list of some of the things they need: Toiletries of all kinds, for men and women, cereals (small boxes,) Pop Tarts, socks (white calf,) gum (any kind,) ravioli, baggies (Ziplock,) beef jerky, oatmeal (instant,) tuna kits, canned fruits, fly strips, playing cards. Small unbreakable holiday decorations and Christmas stockings. Call me at 453-2169 or 452-9853 if you need more information. Please help our soldiers.
