"Safety is key to re-open Lake Denton" was the headline Saturday, Oct. 6.
Don Bates has it all figured out. Get rid of boats with motors on Lake Denton. I guess this is fine if boats with motors were the problem, but boats with motors are not the problem. I live on Lake Denton and own a boat, and motor.
The problems that the Lake Denton Committee was to deal with were people parking illegally, people getting naked and people urinating in full view of anyone that comes by on Lake Denton Road.
I don't see how getting rid of boats and motors on Lake Denton will change anything. The problems are not "in" Lake Denton, the problems are "on" Lake Denton Road. Enforcing the laws that are already on the books is the only thing that is going to fix the problems on Lake Denton Road.
Is Mr. Bates going to pay my lakefront taxes or pay for my boat and motor since he doesn't think that I should be allowed to use it? Work on the problems on Lake Denton Road and leave the boats and motors out of it.
