Let me be the first to say a huge thank you to the Miracle League of Lake Placid. This baseball league allows children, young adults, and adults , with disabilities, to play baseball.
A "Meet and Greet" was held on Saturday, Oct. 6. The games start on Oct. 13. Upon arrival, we were met by a group of baseball players from SFCC. The team and coach were there to pitch, run and just help whenever someone needed them.
The number of young people who were there as buddies, volunteers and coaches was overwhelming. The older buddies were a huge plus also.
To see my guy run bases, bat and just have a huge smile on his face, along with all the other athletes, was priceless. Whoever the sponsors are, they are very special people. Also I want to thank John Komasa for the couple of hours he will be giving every Saturday.
For some of the children, young adults, and adults who struggle every day with the most simple tasks; to hear the squeals of laughter, and the cheers; to see the smiles and watch them play baseball is such a joy.
