SEBRING — Okeechobee scored three goals minutes into the second half, as the Brahmans defeated the Sebring Blue Streaks 4-3 in boys soccer action at Firemen's Field on Tuesday.

Nick Peters scored the first goal for Sebring to tie the score at one heading into the locker room at halftime.

"I thought we played pretty well in the first half," said SHS coach Paul Brown. "We just didn't come out for the second half. The team looked so disorganized and [Okeechobee] took advantage of our defensive mistakes."

The Blue Streaks got going offensively late in the match, with Daniel Grimaldo blasting a header for the score on a corner kick, while Bradley Molinaro also scored on a corner kick for the margin of victory.

"We play Hardee in our next game and that'll be a good test for us," Brown said. "We'll be able to see where we stand in the district."

Sebring hosts the Hardee Wildcats in a Class 4A-District 12 match at 6 p.m.

BOYS SOCCER: Mulberry 3, Lake Placid 0

MULBERRY — The Lake Placid boys soccer team put forth a valiant effort, but Mulberry's defense held the Green Dragons in check on Tuesday.

For the second straight game, Lake Placid's offense failed to put points on the board and head coach Josh Virkler is left wondering how to remedy this ailment.

"It isn't because we're not getting scoring chances," the LP head coach said. "We're getting our forwards up front in numbers, but we're just not scoring. We have to take advantage of the scoring opportunities when they present themselves."

Center-midfielder Hugo Medina was moving the ball well and was playing a solid game, but went down with an injury, denying the Green Dragons one of their top scoring threats.

Lake Placid is back on the field Monday when the Dragons travel to face LaBelle at 8 p.m.
