Many of you probably remember when Nafta began, back when George Bush Sr. was president. The whole picture was not presented, but it has become obvious that this has not benefited the American people.
One doesn't have to have a long memory to recall the time when we had factories with good benefits such as healthcare, retirement, etc., which was important to our economy and the well-being of our people in general. Most of the jobs in recent times have been construction, which is detrimental.
Houses are being built where we once had agriculture, which is certainly not good to force the people to be dependent on food from other countries.
Our president seems to want North American integration and his friends want cheap labor. Amnesty is not in the best interest of our country. It's always good to help others but not at the expense of jeopardizing the livelihood of the elderly. We haven't agreed to this and it is wrong to have it forced on us.
If you oppose these things, a letter to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell might be helpful. Our senators and representatives need to know that we are not happy to have our laws made by Mexican and Canadian bureaucrats.
Let's all get involved and do our best to curtail the direction our country is headed. The White House is backing fund raising to raise money to promote amnesty and guest workers that will give more jobs to foreigners than Americans. I do not understand how anyone could think any of this is for the benefit of our country.
I suppose there will always be a battle between those who want what is best for our country and those who are for personal gain, but if we do what we know is right, through God's help, right will prevail.
