Weekend burglaries on each end of Highlands County ended the same way; with the arrest of two suspects in Sun 'n Lake of Sebring and one suspect in Sun 'n Lakes South.
It was about noon Friday when sheriff's deputies got a call about a burglary in progress in an unoccupied house in the 4000 block of Capri Street, in Sun 'n Lake of Sebring, involving two suspects.
After getting a witness description of the two males, one with dark clothing and a dread locks-style hairdo and the second, skinny, also dressed in dark clothing, the suspects were located by Deputy Ernie Gelinas on Viscaya Avenue.
They were detained until the witness could be brought to the location for identification.
Sheriff's Capt. Paul Blackman said the owner of the home was located. She listed about 20 Sony Playstation 3 games were missing and a Nintendo GameBoy with a total value of $500.
The suspects, Lorenzo Sparrow, 18, of 4012 Villabella Drive, and the juvenile, 16, were each charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and grand theft.
In the case of the other burglary, deputy Mickey Cloninger spotted a male walking at about 1 a.m. Monday, along Stargazer Drive, in Sun 'n Lakes of Lake Placid.
Cyle Wilson, 21, of 652 Concert Drive, Lake Placid, was charged with burglary and petty theft, after several checks were found in his possession, according to Blackman.
After going to the address listed on the check, they located the 89-year-old victim. It turned out to be an unreported burglary, Blackman said.
"The owner of the house was asleep," said Capt. Randy LaBelle. "They didn't even know he was in the house."
Wilson was also in possession of a complete eighth season of South Park, on DVD and a half-full bottle of Skol Vodka.
"He gave deputies reason to believe he was intoxicated," Blackman said.
