Those of you who have been staying home on Heartland Idol night down on the circle just don't know what you have been missing. And remember it's free.
Oh, you can grab a hot dog or brat, one week they even had nacho supreme (that I have to say were the best ones I have had since Ruby Tuesday took them off their menu). I sure hope they bring them back to Heartland Idol.
It is hand clapping, feet stomping good. Gives you a chance to meet some people you wouldn't have met other wise, get some fresh air, get away from that TV set that has nothing worth watching on anyway aAnd see some talent you would not thought of Highlands County having in the first place. Plus there are people entering from other areas around. Hardee County has shown well.
I will admit the judging leaves much to be desired. In fact there are times you have to wonder if they are watching the same show you are, as they give their constructive criticism but then that is part of contest. Now the emcees have done a great time trying to help the contestants relax as well as getting the audience in to the swing of the show.
Nov. 10 will be the last show for this year's contest, mark it on your calendar now and make it a point to be there. And more than likely you won't miss a show next year, even if your favorite contestant didn't win this year. As they say at the end of football season, "There's next year."
