SEBRING – The Sebring Youth Football midget team took first place in its division for the first time since Pop Warner football began in town nearly 20 years ago.
Coached by Mark Bryan, the Blue Streaks face their toughest test of the season at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 when they face an undefeated team from Tampa at Firemen's Field.
"I'm proud of this team and their willingness to grind out a long season," Bryan said, noting the team has been conditioning since July. "These guys have been at it for a long time."
It was the first top finish in its division since Pop Warner football began in Sebring in 1989.
The team roster: Elijah Pough, Jared Cannon, Eric Steed, Matt Wilkerson, AJ Gall, Malik Gordon, CJ Payne, Wade Faircloth, Austin Hedrick, Tyler Baker, Steven Jacobs, Teddy Gibbs, Sklyer Hinklin, Dwayne Collins, Jake Bryan, Tony DeJongh, Ryan Schuffert, Dylan Brown, Kapen Eherenman, Jacob Jones, Clinton Davis, Bruce Kimball, Cody Spiegel, Devon Durham, Sam Jacobs, and Michael Weston.
