After reading "Legacy Is For Later" in the Dec. 20 letter to the editor, I had to stop, fold my hands, bow my head, and thank God that he gave enough of our senators and representatives the wisdom and courage to stop most of the bad bills, (which were against what most Americans wanted,) that the Democrats tried to slip through during the past year.
I shudder to think, if as the article requested, there were enough left-wing radicals to pass all of legislation they brought to the floor, they could have legally defeated the United States through a mass invasion without firing a single shot.
1. All illegal aliens would have been rewarded with amnesty and allowed to become citizens of the United States, with voting rights. And they could have brought all of their family into the country to do the same. No limits were set.
2. Our Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and health systems would have been unable to withstand the overload, and failed.
3. We could have expected a very large tax increase to support the once illegal aliens and their families.
4. The dream act, which was not a dream but instead a nightmare, it gave illegals things that citizens do not and would not have.
And sir, if it takes a home-grown, flag-waving crackpot to see the disastrous situation that would have been created, then I pray to God that he continues to allow us to have enough home grown flag-waving crackpots in Congress to stop the left-wing radicals from destroying our country.
I am a proud member of the American Party of Florida, who welcomes legal immigrants and encourages them to become citizens of the United States so they can become members of the American Party of Florida and join us waving the flag of the country we love. We meet the first Thursday of each month at Homer's at 6:30 p.m. Come visit, we will exchange views. You can never tell, you may learn something.
