AVON PARK — Police are looking for anyone with information on four men Thursday in connection with the robbery of a 27-year-old Avon Park man Saturday night behind the Village Lounge at 205 W. Main St.
The victim was not a customer at the bar, but was cutting through the property to take a shortcut home when four men approached him and threatened him with a short bat.
"The victim was struck several times with the bat," said Avon Park Police Cmdr. Michael J. Rowan.
The men took an undisclosed amount of cash, the victim's wallet and some jewelry, Rowan said.
After the attack, the victim ran across Main Street to the Stop And Shop, at 117 W. Main St., where he called police at about 10:14 p.m. Saturday.
Police did not want to release any additional information as it is still an ongoing investigation.
Anyone who may have information about the attack should call the Avon Park Police Department at 863-453-6622.
