Mr. Ludacer's letter dated Dec. 10 once again shows he is a biased, misinformed individual. A little effort in research on his part would have enlightened him to the following facts:
Mr. Ludacer suggests: "They have even usurped the name 'American' as if their party is the only one entitled to be so considered." There are four minor political parties registered in Florida with the word American in them. Usurped is defined as to seize and hold by force or without legal authority.
The American Party of Florida (APF) is recognized by the state as a minor political party.
The APF supports legal immigration and the enforcement of immigration law. They also believe term limits play an integral part in maintaining the integrity of the office which citizen legislators are elected. They believe to remain a sovereign nation, we must secure our borders and that elected officials be accountable for their actions in office, which includes tax and spending policies. Most importantly, they (so am I) are eternally grateful for the service, and sacrifices of the men, women and families of our military, to whom we owe our freedom.
Term limits, secure borders and government accountability do not suggest a singular platform.
Furthermore Mr. Ludacer, a little more research you may wish to partake in has to do with citizen's rights as to freedom of speech and expression. If an individual chooses to use the flag as a patch, bumper sticker, paint job, or shirt, that is their right. The same you enjoy to disagree. I suppose, using your logic, that you find Uncle Sam's clothing also tasteless!
No, I am not a member of the American Party of Florida, however I will join after I cast my vote this January.
