The EDGE All Stars from EDGE Cheer Center in Sebring astounded the crowds with their high-flying and solid performances at the Spirit Cheer Tampa Championships held in Lakeland on Nov. 18.
This was the first competition of the season for these athletes and all teams came home with top honors in their divisions.
Head coach and gym owner, Jenny Rowe, was extremely happy with the performances of her athletes.
"These girls and boys train very hard each week and their teamwork and pride in what they do really showed through their performances," she said. "They represented our community very well and I am extremely excited to see what the rest of our season brings for these kids."
EDGE Mini All Stars, composed of 12 young ladies ages 5 to 8 from throughout Highlands County, were the first to compete.
They brought home a first place trophy in the Mini Level 1 Division.
Team members include Hannah Treadway, Kaia Treadway, Jordan Jackson, Caitlyn Salvagno, Alexis Pyle, Jessie Kovens, Emilee VanHyning, Jessie VanHyning, Noemi Vargas, Gina Franco, Skyler Cook, and Kendall Prescott.
EDGE Minis are coached by Rowe, Stephen Kirby, Hailey Shane and Dallas Carlisle.
EDGE Youth All Stars, represented by 22 athletes ages 7-11 from Highlands and Hardee County, also brought home a first place in the Youth Level 1 Division.
Team members include Stephanie Roberts, Gracie Smoak, Taylor Mendez, Caroline Taylor, Alex Hornick, Madison Leaphart, Cheyenne Sexton, Shaelyn Cummings, Natalie Vargas, Kami McGrath, Mariah Edenfield, Kayla Albritton, Megan Crews, Lindsey Day, Tamra McMahon, Dylan Ely, Maddie Wilson, Quanteja Bostic, Mary-Elizabeth Estrada, Shelbi Davis, Jocelyn Jackson, and Julianne Jackson.
EDGE Youth are coached by Rowe, Kayla Yarbrough, Courtney Grubb, and Sarah Cleveland.
EDGE Senior All Stars finished first in the Large Senior Level 3 Co-Ed Division. These 39 athletes from Highlands County range in ages from 8 -16.
Team members include Sami Jo Hawkins, Kiersten McSheffrey, Cayli Watt, Danielle Ely, Mariah Cardona, Merry Roberts, MeKenzie Hargaden, Lindsey Hammortree, Madison Grubb, Gina Haley, Amanda Hicks, Anna Roberts, Taylor Locklear, Taylor Clark, Isabella Caraballo, Victoria Caraballo, Coleby Slade, Josh Heflin, Chelsea Schell, Alli Zeegers, Kayla Serralta, Jessica Belcher, Julia Anderson, Sierra Travers, Brittany Carlisle, Dallas Carlisle, Marysa Haak, Brittany Goodman, Brittany Welch, Danielle Acosta, Raven Crawford, Sarah Benevides, Sumer Lewis, Hunter Brock, Bethany Alcordo, Lexie Delgado, Larissa Luna, and Briah Thomas.
Also, filling in for an injured athlete, was Kori Bachman.
EDGE Seniors are coached by Rowe, Maurice Williams, Courtney Grubb, and Sarah Cleveland.
The EDGE also had three soloists compete in the individual divisions at the competition. Cayli Watt brought home a first place in the Youth Division. Lindsey Hammortree brought home a first in the Junior Division with MeKenzie Hargaden following at a second.
