WAUCHULA – Hannah Shoop had 10 points and 13 rebounds and Whitney Wells led the Streaks with 12 points on Friday night as the Sebring girls basketball team continued its winning ways on Friday with a 51-33 victory over Hardee in Class 4A-District 10 action.

Sebring (6-1, 4-1 district) led 25-13 at the half and broke the game open in the third quarter, holding the Wildcats to just three points in the period. Senior Whitney Lee had nine points and eight rebounds on the night, while sophomore Emmanice McCullors added seven points and senior Brenita Grant tallied seven steals.

"I wasn't really happy at halftime," said Sebring coach Mike Lee. "But they gave a great effort in the third quarter and the girls took it upon themselves to give us some breathing room."

Lee said he's still yet to see a complete, four-quarter performance out of his girls this season, but with each victory, the team is working toward that very goal.

"We have to give a consistent effort every night," coach Lee said. "We can't go on hiatus."

BOYS SOCCER: Sebring 2, Fort Meade 1

FORT MEADE — Austin Brady and Elisha Klatt scored first-half goals and the Sebring defense clamped down on Fort Meade as the Blue Streaks edged the Miners 2-1 in a non-district boys soccer match.

Brady scored on a penalty kick to give Sebring the early lead before Fort Meade rallied to tie the match midway through the first half.

Klatt scored the game-winner with a header off a beautiful cross from Gilberto Santos late in the first half.

The Blue Streaks, who improved to 4-4 on the season and remained undefeated at home, made the lead stand up.

"It was a good team effort because Fort Meade is a good club," Sebring coach Paul Brown said. "We continue to play well on the road and hopefully, we can start playing well at home."
