Why did you start the business?
We got the business in foreclosure, so we decided to open a restaurant and golf school/driving range.
Is there anything unique about your business that makes it different from the competition?
We offer over 40 different gourmet burgers, including beef, bison, lamb and even gator. We also have 16 Florida craft beers on tap, by far the best selection in Highlands County.
What challenges do you face in business?
We are not right in town, but approximately 7 miles south of Lake Placid, so drive-by traffic is limited.
What do you like about your business?
We are family-operated. Everything is fresh and homemade. We served home-cooked meals to please both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Our menu includes daily soups and a great selection of robust salads. You can't beat our now-famous fresh cut fries. We also started a burger club, which is going over well with our customers.
