WFHT introduces new talk format

Dave McCoy, general manager of 1390 WFHT, announced that its reformattedradio station - 1390 am WFHT - will go live at 6 a.m. on Monday, March 15 with a lineup of well-known national talk radio hosts and around-the-clock programming.

"We're very proud of 1390 WFHT and the important contributions it will make to thoughtful conversation in Avon Park and Sebring," McCoy said in a press release.

The station will air local interviews that explore popular American influences and roots. Regular listeners will learn not only what thought-provoking hosts have to say, but also be able to discuss and contribute to the overall national buzz.

WFHT will launch principally as a talk station with a substantial number of newsbreaks, interviews and special features. While talk itself will always be primary, over time the broadcast schedule will become more complex, with added commentaries, business reviews, live performances, and other features that will make the station increasingly distinctive and compelling.

The station, located at 801 U.S. 27 N. in Avon Park, used to play gospel and oldies music, according to McCoy.

Effective Monday morning, the morning variety program "The Mancow Show" with Erich "Mancow" Muller, will be heard exclusively on 1390am from 6 to 10 a.m. Following Mancow will be Neal Boortz, Michael Savage, Lou Dobbs, Mark Levin, and Phil Hendrie.
