Community cooking class continues at Quality Inn

As a result of the tremendous success of the first Community Fun Series holiday cooking demonstration class held on Dec. 9 at the Quality Inn Conference Center in Sebring, the hotel management looks forward to the next free cooking demonstration class Monday, Jan. 4.

There will be an Asian Pacific theme for the class, which will run from 5 - 6 p.m.

"We were overwhelmed by the incredible response to our first Community Fun Series cooking class and had to cap reservations once we hit 130 simply based on the size of the room available at the time," said Mike Peek, Quality Inn Conference Center's general manager.

"Actually, we were expecting between 30 to 40 for this first-ever event, but had to close out reservations rather quickly once the room capacity was achieved," Peek added.

The idea behind these events is to invite the local community in to see how the food and beverage team, led by Executive Chef Steve Kucera, prepare a few of their signature holiday and special event banquet items while simultaneously providing complimentary recipes cards and fresh tasting samples to enrich the full experience.

The event is open to women and men of all ages and is offered free of charge to Highlands County residents and hotel guests.

The next cooking class on Jan. 4 will feature several exotic Asian gourmet dishes from the first ever 'Asian Pacific' night that the Quality Inn Conference Center is hosting on Jan. 9, which is also open to the public. This Asian inspired cooking demonstration class will feature several chef selected Asian food dishes from throughout the Asian world along with the traditional complimentary recipe cards and tasting samples.

The Quality Inn Conference Center, 6525 U.S. 27 N., will be accepting canned food donations for the less fortunate in the community.
