Lake Placid Realtors to install officers

LAKE PLACID - The January general membership meeting of the Lake Placid Board of Realtors will be held Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Elks Club.

The program will be the Installation of 2010 officers and directors of the Lake Placid Board of Realtors and the MLS of Lake Placid. Todd Dantzler, 2000 Florida Association of Realtors president, will perform the Installation.

Seacoast National Bank's Chic Acosta will present information on RESPA changes.

The cost to attend the meeting is $8 and this meeting is for Realtor and affiliate members of the Lake Placid Board of Realtors and invited guests only. Checks should be made out to the Lake Placid Board of Realtors.

RSVP's are required by Jan. 4 and can be made by e-mail, executive@lakeplacidrealtors.org, or by phone at 465-3444.

Deadline nears for Sebring Chamber banquet tickets

SEBRING - The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet from 6 - 9 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Four Points by Sheraton Chateau Elan, Sebring.

The dinner, awards ceremony and silent auction will be held in the Lemans Ballroom.

The cost is $35 per person.

The deadline to purchase tickets is Jan. 11.

Floors Direct relocates

LAKE PLACID - Jerson Salazar, owner of Floors Direct, has relocated the business to the new Mid-Town Center, located at 131 Tower St.,in Lake Placid.

The public is invited to visit the new location and see the store's line of products at 10 a.m. Jan 12.

There will be light refreshments.

TDC meeting canceled

SEBRING - The Jan. 7 Highlands County Tourist Development Council meeting has been canceled.

The meeting will be rescheduled in mid-January.

Chandler joins PrimeLending LAKE PLACID - PrimeLending, a Plains Capital Co., has announced that Lake Placid resident Paul Chandler, a certified mortgage professional, has joined the staff as a loan originator covering the Heartland area.

Chandler, who began mortgage lending in 1981, has a broad background in the field and has developed specialties for VA and FHA loans. He is also the Florida expert for the company in the area of reverse mortgages.

Previously associated with Aim Mortgage of Bradenton, Chandler has experience in managing a mortgage company office fro several years with Wisconsin-based Universal Mortgage Corp. and has worked for several banks and mortgage companies over the years. He has been an instructor for mortgage and banking-related courses.

1 Park Place to hold mixer

LAKE PLACID - 1 Park Place, a full-service salon located at 200 W. Interlake Blvd., in Lake Placid, is hosting a Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce Mixer from 5 - 7 p.m. Jan. 7.

Refreshments will be served.

The business is owned by Brianna Asbury.
