LP Board of Realtors to meet

LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Board of Realtors will recognize its 2009 affiliate members at the Nov. 4 meeting.

The meeting will run from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Lake Placid Elks Lodge.

The cost is $8 per person.

Attorney Tim Sheehan will be the guest speaker.

The meeting is for Realtors, affiliate members of the Lake Placid Board of Realtors and invited guests only.

EDC board to meet

SEBRING - The Highlands County Industrial Development Authority/Economic Development Commission board of directors will meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4 in the board room of the EDC office, 2113 U.S. 27 S., in Sebring.

Tourist Council slates meeting

SEBRING - The Highlands County Tourist Development Council will meet at 8 a.m. Nov. 5 in Room 3 at the Bert J. Harris Jr. Agricultural Center, which is located at the corner of U.S. 27 and George Boulevard in Sebring.

Experience Works rep to speak

LAKE PLACID - Elizabeth O'Neill, who is an employment and training assistant with Experience Works, will discuss the job training/placement assistance program from 2 - 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4.

It will be held at Lake Placid Memorial Library, 205 W. Interlake Blvd.

Miracle Ear has moved to mall

SEBRING - Miracle Ear has moved into its new location at Lakeshore Mall in Sebring.

A ribbon cutting with the Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce will be held at the store, which is next to Belks, at 4 p.m. Nov. 2.

Store hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sebring Chamber of Commerce breakfast set

SEBRING - The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce will hold its membership breakfast at 6:45 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Quality Inn Conference Center, 6525 U.S. 27 N.

The breakfast will be sponsored by John Shoop and Highlands Independent Bank.

Seacoast National Bank hosting LP Chamber mixer

LAKE PLACID - Seacoast National Bank, which is located at 199 U.S. 27 N., Lake Placid, is hosting a Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce mixer from 5 - 7 p.m. on Nov. 12.

The event will be catered by Heron's Garden Restaurant.

Cox joins firm

SEBRING - The certified public accounting firm of Wicks, Brown, Williams & Co announces that Charlie Cox has joined the firm as a staff accountant and will practice in the area of taxation and audits.

Cox has worked in taxation and auditing since January 2007.

He earned an MBA from Florida Southern College and a baccalaureate in accounting from the University of Florida.

He will be taking the CPA exam this fall.
