The Warrick Dunn Foundation (WDF), a Tampa based not-for-profit, recently hired Jennifer J. Maxwell as executive director.
Maxwell, who is from Avon Park, is a University of Central Florida graduate with a master's degree in exceptional student education from the University of South Florida. Maxwell also obtained a certificate in nonprofit management and innovation from the University of Tampa. As executive director, Maxwell will manage the operations of WDF and oversee fundraising, outreach and program development.
"Jenn's achievements and reputation within the industry will provide depth and experience to our Foundation," said Chris Knopik, president of WDF Board of Directors.
Prior to joining WDF, she was the president and CEO of the Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg Inc. where she led agency finance, development, personnel, public relations, operations and educational programming.
Maxwell also served as a teacher for exceptional student education in Pinellas County for eight years.
Her father is Steve Maxwell of Avon Park.She graduated from Avon Park High School in 1991 and attended SFCC before moving to Orlando to attend UCF.
The Warrick Dunn Foundation, named for the running back of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is dedicated to providing opportunities for economically-disadvantaged single parents and children who have demonstrated a commitment to achieve financial independence and stability.
The Foundation's Homes for the Holiday's program, established in Tampa in 1997, has assisted 86 single parents and 233 children achieve first time home ownership in Tampa and Tallahassee, Atlanta and Baton Rouge, La. For more information, visit www.warrickdunnfoundation.org.
