Officials of a provider of home health nursing services in Sebring do not want the public to be confused with a Miami-Dade County company with the same name whose owners and employees were recently arrested for committing Medicare fraud.
Florida Home Health Care Providers Inc. was independently owned by Gladys Zambrana and Carlos Castaneda.
In a letter, Phyllis Montville, senior vice president - Florida Operations, wrote "please be aware that the Florida Home Health in question is in no way affiliated with the Florida Home Health located in Sebring that you come to know and trust."
Florida Home Health in Sebring is owned and operated by Almost Family. Almost Family Inc. was founded in 1976 and has branch locations in Florida, Kentucky, Connecticut, New Jersey, Ohio, Massachusetts, Alabama, Missouri, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Indiana. The company and its subsidiaries operate more than 90 branch locations in 11 U.S. states.
"Almost Family has chosen not to have any agencies in Miami-Dade County as we feel the fraud is rampant in that area," Montville said.
