The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce is hosting a seminar on Florida Ready to Work for area employers on Friday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. Florida Ready to Work is a new employee credentialing program sponsored by the state of Florida and administered by the Florida Department of Education
The employee credentialing program connects jobseekers, educators and employers. Florida Ready to Work tests - and scores - job skills. It provides students/jobseekers proof that they have the fundamental skills to succeed on the job, helps educators better prepare students/jobseekers for work and college and saves employers time and money when hiring.
In the first year of the program, more than 7,300 Florida Ready to Work Credentials were earned statewide. Today, 50,000 students and adult jobseekers are enrolled in the program. Free online Courseware is provided for those who need to build their skills. Florida Ready to Work is offered by more than 500 high schools, technical centers, community colleges, one-stop centers, employers and other partners statewide. Participation is free.
The chamber is located at 227 U.S. 27 N.
