Florida Hospital Lake Placid has a new administrator and the previous administrator there has a new title.
Tim Cook, Florida Hospital Heartland Division CEO/president, announced that Warren Santander has taken over the top position in Lake Placid and Doug Harcombe has expanded his human resources role within the three-campus division.
Santander comes to FHHD after being the Chief Operating Officer at Desoto Memorial Hospital in Arcadia. Santander has been a healthcare executive for many years and has previously provided leadership in Adventist Health Systems in the areas of finance, operations and human resources. He is a dedicated man of faith and has lived in Lake Placid and Highlands County for the past eight years.
"We moved to Highlands County to care for terminally ill parents and relatives. Our first year was spent in a rental home behind the hospital in Lake Placid. We fell in love with Lake Placid and the people," said Santander. "I am very excited about the opportunity to work with the town of Lake Placid and Highlands County to continue the tradition of excellent health care close to home. My commitment to the people of Lake Placid is to work as hard as possible with the leaders in the Town, our dedicated healthcare professionals and physicians, and government officials, to meet those challenges and build firm foundations for the future."
Cook also explained Harcombe's role as the new title of Executive Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development. His focus will be full time on implementing strategies, systems and programs that will ensure the FHHD team is supported as they extend the healing ministry of Christ.
"This was a difficult decision for me because Florida Hospital Lake Placid and the Lake Placid community have a special bond and really support each other. I enjoy being part of that," said Harcombe. "But this change represents a great opportunity for this bond to grow since Florida Hospital Lake Placid will now have a full-time administrator."
