Doctor's office changes name

SEBRING - The office of Dr. Michael J. Rogers is now known as Lakeside Dermatology.

The Sebring office is located at 727 U.S. 27 S.

The hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Wednesday. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday, but Rogers is at the Winter Haven office that day.

Rogers has more than doubled his staff in the last couple of years. He has been providing full dermatology services and cosmetic procedures to patients for more than 20 years in Highlands County.

Positive Mobility has new name

SEBRING - Positive Mobility has changed its name to Positive Medical Transport.

In a letter to customers, Ron Layne, who is the president of the company, said "this is being done to identify our services and eliminate confusion with our friends at Mobility Express."

Vegas have bought Precision Auto Body

LAKE PLACID - Lifelong Lake Placid residents Eduardo and Tracy Vega are the new owners of Precision Auto Body, 734 County Road 621, in Lake Placid.

They purchased the business last month. It was established approximately 30 years ago by Tom Clark, another resident of Lake Placid.

The hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on weekends.

Precision currently offers auto body repair and paint along with 24-hour towing. A mechanic shop and used car sales have been added.

"Our goal is to make Precision Auto a one-stop shop for all of your automotive needs," a press release stated. "In this economy so many people are staying away from the high priced new cars and buying used, or maintaining the cars they currently own. We feel our services are beneficial to the consumer during these hard times."

1 Park Place to hold mixer

LAKE PLACID - 1 Park Place, a full-service salon located at 200 W. Interlake Blvd., in Lake Placid, is hosting a Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce Mixer from 5 - 7 p.m. Jan. 7.

Refreshments will be served.

The business is owned by Brianna Asbury.

Ford dealers raise money for high schools

AVON PARK - Bill Jarrett Ford Mercury and Alan Jay Ford Lincoln Mercury - both raised more than $3,000 for Ford's "Drive One 4 UR School" program during the fall.

High schools participating in the program work with local Ford dealers to host one-day events where people can test-drive a new Ford vehicle. For each test drive taken, Ford and participating dealers donate $20 to fund special projects and activities at the school.

There were 169 test drives at Bill Jarrett for $3,380 for Avon Park and 163 test drives at Alan Jay for $3,260 for Sebring.
