Sebring Chamber schedules banquet

SEBRING - The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet from 6 - 9 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Four Points by Sheraton Chateau Elan, Sebring.

The dinner, awards ceremony and silent auction will be held in the Lemans Ballroom.

The cost is $35 per person.

Don Elwell will be the emcee.

Mixer slated at RE/MAX

SEBRING - RE/MAX Realty Plus is hosting a mixer to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The event, which is for Realtors, members of Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce and affiliates, will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Dec. 17.

RE/MAX is located at 809 U.S. 27 S. in Sebring.

AP Chamber to hold breakfast meeting

AVON PARK - The Avon Park Chamber of Commerce breakfast membership meeting will be held at 7 a.m. Dec. 17 at the Hotel Jacaranda.

The meeting will be sponsored by Highlands Regional Medical Center.

Nichols joins law firm

SEBRING - Rebecca Nichols has joined the Law Office of Pamela T. Karlson as an associate attorney.

Nichols, who has been admitted to practice law in the state of Florida and the Middle District of Florida, will practice primarily in the areas of foreclosure defense law and bankruptcy law.

Nichols grew up in Sebring and graduated from Sebring High School in 2002. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Stetson University in DeLand. She then obtained her master's degree in business administration from Stetson University School of Business. She earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, graduating with honors.

Rebecca is the daughter of Bill and Jean Nichols of Sebring.

19th Hole Grill open at Sun 'n Lake

SEBRING - The 19th Hole Grill at Sun 'n Lake of Sebring is now open.

The hours of operation are: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday.

Local professional receives jewelry industry recertification

SEBRING - Charles R. Stuart of Highlands Jewelers Inc., 3750 U.S. 27 N. 1-A, in Sebring has successfully completed the annual American Gem Society recertification exam.

The mandatory examinations were developed to maintain professional credentials and uphold educational and ethical standards for membership in the Society. Stuart earned the distinguished title or designation of Certified Gemologist Appraiser following the successful completion of a course of study and examination covering topics in advanced gemology and the jewelry industry.

Every year Stuart is required to pass an exam encompassing the latest industry developments and information, and to stay current on the information required to provide customers with accurate and knowledgeable service.
