Sebring Chamber Plans Events

SEBRING - The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce is trying to move forward with several networking events scheduled for members this month and one event open to the public.

The public is invited to attend the chamber's breakfast meeting Tuesday, June 10 that will be held in the upstairs conference room at Florida Hospital Heartland Division. It will begin at 6:45 a.m., and the cost is $8 per person.

The topic will be the Heartland Triathlon, which is set for July 12-13 in Sebring. Cheri Starr, the race director, and Patrick High, race coordinator, will talk about the triathlon and the kids race. Information will also be provided for those interested in participating in the event for the first time.

A tri-chamber mixer to meet and greet new county administrator Michael Wright is set for Thursday, June 12 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Kenilworth Lodge. The event will be sponsored by Leadership Highlands.

The after-hours mixer will be held Thursday, June 19 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Woody's BBQ in Sebring.

The Quarterly Networking at Noon luncheon is set for June 27 at the Kenilworth Lodge in Sebring.

The luncheon will actually start at 11:45 a.m. The cost is $10 per person.

Duwayne Keller, who is a Dale Carnegie instructor, will speak at the luncheon. His topic will be "Empowerment."

Sarah Pallone, the chamber's interim president, is encouraging members to come to at least one function in June.

Pallone noted that a coupon book will appear in the June newsletter about the "Be Smart Shop Sebring" campaign. She urges business owners to shop at other chamber members' stores to "keep dollars here."
