Sebring Chamber Breakfast Set For Florida Hospital
SEBRING - The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce membership breakfast will be held at the Florida Hospital Heartland Division Conference Room on Tuesday, July 8.

Breakfast will be served at 6:45 a.m. The program begins at 7:15.

Big Brothers Big Sisters will be speaking about their new High School Drop Out Avoidance Program.

The cost is $8 per person at the door.

Lake Placid Chamber To Hold Luncheon
LAKE PLACID - The Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon, which is sponsored by Progress Energy, will be held on Wednesday, July 9.

The guest speaker will be Jerry Miller, who will talk about "Looking at Power in a New Light." The luncheon will be held at the Lake Placid Elks Lodge at noon. Cost is $8 per person.

Those planning to attend are asked to confirm their reservation by calling the chamber at 465-4331 or e-mail at chamber@lpfla.com no later than July 7.

The luncheon is open to chamber members only.

Women's Clothing Store Open In Mall
SEBRING - Bella Brazil, a woman's clothing store, opened Friday at Lakeshore Mall in Sebring.

Store owner Adriana Piherio said her inventory will include Brazilian jeans and club wear.

There are Bella Brazil stores at Eagle Ridge Mall in Lake Wales as well as in Lakeland.

Financial Consultant McMahon Now In South Sebring

Federal Grants Workshop Slated
SEBRING - A workshop to review the application process for federal grants will be held from 10 a.m. - noon Wednesday, July 9 at Sebring Civic Center.

Anyone who wants to learn about federal grant opportunities for Highlands County's 501 (c) 3 organizations, including faith-based and local government agencies. The workshop will review the application process, discuss best practices and review opportunities. A grants specialist from Washington, D.C., will be available to answer questions.

Attendees will learn about a new program available through Congressman Tim Mahoney's office that will give them the opportunity to receive prompt notice about potential competitive and discretionary funding programs and help your organization follow up on the process.

The workshop is being hosted by Mahoney and the Highlands County Economic Development Commission. Those planning to attend are asked to call 385-1025.
