SEBRING - Three newcomers to the area have submitted entries for the 2007 Fall Parade of Homes sponsored by the Highlands County Builders Association.
The event will run from Oct. 19 - 28. Weekday hours will be noon to 5 p.m., while Saturday the homes will be open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
There are a total of 26 homes in the parade.
Heartland Family Homes, Ping Homes Builder and DLF Construction will each have one entry in the competition. All three builders' entries are in Lake Placid.
Other builders who have homes entered include: Sebring Builders, Homes by Handley, J.E. Futch Custom Homes, J&J Parker, Griffon Construction, Sunshine Homes, Sun State Homes, Chapman's Construction Co., Bevis Construction, Sunbelt Homes, T.E. James Custom Homes, Trinity Development and Upland Homes.
Upland has built the 2007 Showcase Home at 4236 Lakewood Road in Sebring. The 2,506-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage.
The price, including the lot is $223,900. Proceeds from the sale will, in part, go to support the association.
The association's annual awards banquet will be held Oct. 18 at the Paradise Grille at Highlands Ridge.
The social hour will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7. The awards presentation will start at 8. Highlands County Commissioner Barbara Stewart will be the presenter.
The cost is $25 per person.
